According to C.O.O. Tryon's Memo, Re: Renewal of Agreement, I have the honour to inform you that the present agreement will expire on the

31st instant. My chief's abovenamed work has been supervised by me and Mr. ... his brother-in-law. The current work falling to these two officers during this four years has been very heavy, for in conjunction with this office, a large amount of arrears has accumulated in the Land and Grantage Department, though through no fault of theirs.

I am pained to say that the Clerical staff is now practically up to date. The bringing up to date of this Department is now a matter of great satisfaction to myself that we worked cheerfully.

We have grappled with somewhat disheartening arrears. Through doubtless ... as is the usual reward for services of this nature, ... beyond praising ...
